THE MOVING

Once the last moving truck was ready, we were granted two hours to take photographs. The invitation to walk Mariscal Sucre airport dismantled was initiative of the Centre of Contemporary Art in Quito.

These photographs are installed in no-time, in the limbo that occurs when functionality ceases. With a forensic vocation, they focus on what is left behind and on their peculiar way of being left behind. They necessarily refer to what is absent. Their narrative arises from waste. They contemplate the subversion of the objects that inhabit that uninhabited space.

Two of these photographs were exhibited in large format on the old airstrip of the Bicentennial Park in "Open Air Photography", in Quito, on April 2013.
