I SEE ONE

This series consists of five diptychs. “I See One” questions frontiers. The one that separates documentary from experimental photography. The one that separates one from another, what is inside and what is outside, polysemy and the absence of ambiguity. They are images that, in their uniqueness, can only be narrated by multiplicity. They can be read as metaphors, but for me they are documents since they are quite precise mental records of spaces and sensations, of observations and emotions, of characters and stories.

"I See One" was exhibited in France in October 2010 under the title "L’ un et le multiple ". It was a joint exhibition with my mother, Inés Alonso Ares, who presented her sculptural series "Le bois et les rêves". The exhibition was organized by the Maison de L’Amérique Latine in Rhône-Alpes, and was exhibited at Atelier-Galerie Saint Georges, in Lyon.
